Dated 1837 in arsenal inscription to the blade back. Iron hilt of 1796 pattern with saddled backstrap. Cross guard with numerous issue and ordnance marks, cancelled with a stipple matrix. Ribbed leather covered grip made without wire wrap. 30” curved blade. Brown patina with frosty oxidation only. Dating to the turbulent years leading up to the 1848 Revolution.
